Meet Zaki Malik. Zaki is an undergraduate at the University of Maryland pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He is expected to graduate in May 2028. With a strong interest in finance, banking, and business management, he is actively seeking a Summer 2027 finance internship in Baltimore or the Washington, D.C. area, ideally from May through August.
Zaki is particularly interested in investment banking, commercial banking, and financial analysis. He has completed coursework in Financial Accounting, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Principles of Business Management. His skill set includes data analysis, basic financial modeling, market research, and process optimization, and he is fluent in English and Urdu, with conversational proficiency in ASL and Arabic.
Zaki has also built real-world business experience while balancing school and work. He founded ClarityLync, a service-based startup that helps people with chronic diseases through organization, education, and operational solutions, including an AI-driven system for managing routines and long-term health planning. He has also held management roles in golf shop operations at Holly Hills Country Club and as On-Site Manager at Let There Be Rock School, handling daily operations, scheduling, and customer service.
Outside the classroom, Zaki took part in a service trip to Ghana, where he presented on budgeting, saving, and financial literacy to more than 1,700 students and volunteered at a local hospital. He also mentors young athletes as a basketball trainer.
Zaki is eager to gain hands-on experience, build relationships with industry professionals, and discover where his strengths fit best within finance and business.
