John Geraghty is a founding partner at Chesapeake Search Partners, specializing in Accounting & Finance recruiting while also overseeing recruiting operations for the firm. With nearly 20 years of recruiting experience, he manages both direct-hire and contractual searches across a wide range of industries and functions. In addition to leading client search efforts, John plays a key role in driving training and development initiatives, guiding the recruiting team, and improving the systems, tools, and workflows that support the firm’s day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

John takes a consultative, relationship-driven approach to recruiting and works closely with clients, candidates, and internal team members to navigate hiring decisions with clarity and confidence. His focus is on understanding each organization’s unique needs, aligning talent with business goals, and solving hiring challenges in a practical and thoughtful way while ensuring an exceptional experience for both clients and candidates.

John began his recruiting career with Stephen James Associates in 2008, focusing on Accounting and Finance searches. A Baltimore native, he is a proud graduate of Calvert Hall College High School and James Madison University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History. Born and raised in Baltimore City and Timonium, John now resides in Glen Arm with his wife and three sons. He stays actively involved in the Greater Baltimore community and values authentic relationships, clear communication, and a straightforward approach both personally and professionally.
